Thankfully
there are several things you can do to keep your
mane healthy and shiny all Fall long. Here are
some tips to help reverse any damage Summer may
have done.
1. Shields
Up: Even
though the days are getting shorter, it's
important to protect your hair from
ultraviolet rays that can dry out your hair
and make it more brittle. Many hair products
provide the benefit of UV protection such as Tri
Design Leave-in Reconstructor or Tangle
Me Free by Neuma.
2. Regular
Trims: There
are few certain things in life except death,
taxes and split ends (isn't that how the
saying goes?). Saying sayonara to split ends
every 6-8 weeks will help prevent the hair
from dividing up the entire length of the
shaft. Just 1/8" off from all over will
keep your locks looking wholesome and healthy.
3. Step
Away From The Flat Iron: We're
not saying you have to abandon your hair
tools entirely, but hair dryers, flat irons
and dyes strip your hair of its luster and
vitality. If you insist on employing some or
all of them in your hair regimen, try to use
them sparingly to avoid further damage.
4. Condition,
Condition, Condition (Repeat): There
are several options available to infuse your
hair with the moisture the sun, wind and
salt water stripped away. Professional
in-salon treatments such as a Hydrating
Deep Conditioning Treatment for
a powerful punch. If you're looking for a
DIY option, softer hair (and skin) can
be had for the price of a jar of mayonnaise.
Odd? Perhaps. But, mayonnaise is
"primarily made of eggs, oil, and water
(plus a little lemon). Oil is commonly known
to be good for dry anything. Eggs are also
used to treat dry skin and dry hair. The
water doesn't matter much one way or the
other and lemon juice can add shine to your
hair. If you think about the benefits
mayonnaise provides, you're probably better
off putting it on your head and body than
actually eating it.
Employ
one or all of these tips for flawless
tresses that will see you through apple
picking, raking and any other Fall
activities you have on the horizon.
